Swimming Reindeer sculpture made from the tip of a mammoth tusk, c.11,000 BC. The leading, more detailed figure is a female with smaller body and antlers. Finely incised notching and shading outlines the variation of colours in her coat. [750×372]
My girlfriend & I where hunting for fossils in a slate dump. We had great success and some decent findings, but than she found this! All the other stuff we found was blackish & the fossilized plants are small. I can take some more detailed pictures if needed. (Plastic banana for scale) Any ideas?
